About the project
Beauty Salon Tiffany's is a wellness salon where you can go for various treatments, ranging from beauty treatments like facials and nail polish to wellness treatments such as massages to help you relax and unwind.
Beauty Salon Tiffany's was my first real project that I worked on independently. This included designing and building the website all by myself.
Approach
First, I had a meeting with the client where I asked her about all the elements she wanted to include in the website. From this information, I created sketches in both mobile and web formats. During the sketching process, I constantly sought feedback from the client so that I could incorporate it into the design process.
Creating wireframes
From the sketches, I then created wireframes. I also made them interactive right away so that the client could get an idea of how it will look and function.
Hi-Fi
From the wireframes, I then developed a hi-fi prototype. It was also made interactive to give the client an idea of how the interactions work. The website's colors are based on the colors of the logo.
Building using Mijndomein
Since the client already had a subscription with Mijndomein's website builder, I used it to build the website.
Beauty Salon Tiffany's - Learning points
Beauty Salon Tiffany's was one of the first projects where I worked entirely independently on designing and building a website. It was a very fun project to work on, especially because the client was very pleased with her website. I learned the following points during this project:
- Always strive to incorporate the client's wishes and requirements throughout the process. There are often valuable ideas that you can utilize.
- Involve the user as early as possible in the process so that you can immediately adjust the design based on their feedback.
- Throughout this project, I learned to adapt quickly when things deviate from expectations. For instance, I utilized the website builder provided by Mijndomein. It's a good program for building a website, though there are certain limitations you need to work around.
